Well today was very very hot 32C , and the UV was high and so I thought, I would visit the allotment a little later in the day, hopefully as the sun was going behind the trees in the car park and there would be a little shade being cast on the potting shed and the bottom end of the allotment.
I had planned to transplant the French Climbing Beans into the climbing frame greenhouse, but despite the beans being watered yesterday half of them were dead and only for responded to being given a drink.
The Trays and Modules from lidl's had not survived the 55C in the potting shed and for some reason even the solar powered fan had given up the ghost, not that I think it would have changed the outcome of the French Climbing Beans or the Lidle trays.
Half of the tomatoes I harvested today my sister had the other half, All the Tomatoes are from the Crimson Blight Resistant range
The second sowing of the Lazy Housewife French Climbing Beans have really grown quickly and were harvested
I woke up at 1am and processed the Climbing French Beans and put in the freezer, A bag for Emma (my daughter) & Elaine (my sister) and one for me
Despite the high temperature the turnip seeds are germinating in the potting shed.
Pixie Grape vine turning
Bed 15 Carrot lines are looking more defined with each visit.
Emma's Cucumber and the dwarf French Beans for Digby
I went after and won these paving slabs on Freecycle, and will be picking them up Sunday morning and taking them to the allotment. As I'm splitting the level beds in half and making them raised I need the paving slabs for the path in between raised beds.
