Feeding The Ducks At Beddington Park

I met up with Emma & Digby at Beddington Park to feed the duck and then off to the allotment by 9am, First job to finish cutting up the branches cut yesterday and stack against the wall, so they can die off and be burnt when we can once again have bonfires.

Next job Sow Radish and Carrots in the three drills made in Square Foot Gardening Bed 2 yesterday, cover the seed with seed sowing compost.

Left side no coffee ground between the drills

Right side no coffee ground between the drills

I like to Experiment every now and then, so coffee grounds added to right half of the bed and not to the left, and we will see what difference it makes to the vegetables that get harvested. I watered in with a sprinkle on the surface and at depth using the 500ml pop bottles with holes drilled in.

Then I covered the bed back up with Debris netting to protect the seedlings from the harsh sun forecast for the next 14 days, and Basil Brush and his mates that like to dig my allotment up.

Watered the tomato beds looking out for more tomatoes that are becoming ripe

Bed 15 little indication of germination yet other than mares tail

I then harvested the red and All Gold Raspberries. Which made it just time to come home for lunch

Scruffy git should have had a shave this morning but obviously didn't. I have got used to the Winnie The Poo hat now and have just bought another couple, as I can't see it surviving a wash, as I'm guessing the brim is made of cardboard covered fabric.

It keeps my face out of the direct sunlight and is ventilated with a band of mesh and has the French foreign legion neck guard. 24C and sunny out there today, with high UV values.

Looks like trying to get to the allotment early in the morning and hopefully some cloud cover between midday and 2pm tomorrow.
