New to Dobies for 2023 is 411036 Volcano F1 - Average pack contains 300 seeds - £2.49
Carrot ‘Volcano’ is a sturdy and vigorous variety, popular with commercial growers. This Nantes type carrot produces strong, 8-9” tapered roots with exceptional resistance to breaking and splitting and a crown of vigorous foliage making them easy to lift. High resistance to cavity spot, crown disease and late season re-growth.
Height: 300mm (12"). Spread 150mm (6").
Added to my Seed Box for 2023 and planned to be sown in April, May & June for harvesting between August and November as I'm trying more successional sowing and growing in 2023
Sow carrot seeds thinly at a depth of 12mm (1/2") in drills 300mm (12") apart. Germination will take 10 to 20 days. When large enough to handle thin out the seedlings within each row to 50mm (2") apart. Where space is limited growing carrots in containers will also produce worthwhile crop. Carrots dislike freshly manured soils, so seed beds are best prepared in Autumn well in advance of spring sowings.
