Trimming Paths

I took the Ryobi strimmer to the grass / weeds of the main path so that when its rained or covered in dew as we are now getting dew on the roof of the car and on the ground as the temperatures shift and we go into Autumn proper. That will stop my trainers getting wet when I visit the allotment.

I trimmed the path between plots 1 & 2 up to the pile of plum tree branches that I need to cut up and either save for the bottom of raised beds or take down to plot 9 to burn around November the 5th.

The weeds that were coming up in the path have been trimmed back and I need to lay more woodchip in there and clear the beds of weeds again so that the French Dwarf beans I have growing in the potting shed can be planted out.

Trimmed the weeds back along the paths and around the beds

Trimmed around the Square Foot garden Beds next to the potting shed and trimmed the paths from the potting shed to the climbing frame greenhouse. I will let the debris dry out then blow into a heap and pick them up.

Tomato plants after a trim up, and a harvest, there are a few split small tomatoes, I have not been watering them only letting the rain do that job now.

Another nice harvest of tomatoes and there are so many still on the plants, that are ripe and even more that have not yet turned. I gave a bag load to a plot neighbour who has not grown a lot of tomatoes and I'm running out of people to give them to.

Drop bolt sockets on main timber gates, weeded with the strimmer so they are visible and debris that had fallen into the tubes raked out, so the bolts can drop into them to hold the gates open whilst you drive in and out.
