What Seeds Do I Need for 2026

I finished my "In My Seed Box For 2026 - Index" in December and now I need to review the pages and see what I'm short on and need to obtain for 2026.  

Aubergine - Are my nemesis, I wanted to grow lots of them for a friend and have tried and only ever managed to get one fruit in about 6 years of trying to grow. I have a pack of seeds but could do with some fresh seeds 

Beans - Runners, French Climbing and Dwarf , I have bought lots of varieties of Dwarf beans to grow this year and all the labels are already done ready for sowing. 

Beetroot - I still have quite a lot of packs of seeds that are beyond their suggested sow by dates, and I could do with picking up some cheap packs to re-stock this year.

Blueberry - six plants to be potted up 

Broccoli - two packs that are sow by this year and a few that are older, so OK for this year but could do with topping up for next year 

Brussels Sprouts - Five varieties one sow by this year and the others 2025 & 2024

Cabbage Spring Greens - Four varieties two sow by this year and two sow by last year - so keep a look out for new seeds this year. 

Carrots - three varieties sow by this year and 7 varieties beyond their sow by date

Cauliflower - One pack with a date of 2027 and three packs Sow By Dec 2025, some older packs, so need to update my Cauliflower seeds 

Celeriac - Never grown before and only one pack of seeds 

Celery - Only one pack of seeds 

Chard - Need to buy some for 2026

Courgette - Only Sow by 2025 and a couple of older packs in the seed box, need to buy/ obtain some more 

Cucumber - a few varieties with sow by dates 2026, 2025 & 2024 - obtain / buy more 

Gherkin - Two varieties with sow by dates of 2024 - refresh seed bank 

Goji Berries - Pack from seeds to suit, sow this month 

Grapevine Red - Insitu

Green Manure - refresh seeds 

Herbs - seeds adequate 

Kale - Replenish seed stock 

Leeks - Two varieties beyond their sow by date - replenish seeds 

Lettuce - update seed stock as only one pack sow by this year all others beyond their sow by dates. 

Luffa - Visit Seeds To Suit and pick up a pack of 5 seeds for 89p 

Marrow - Currently I have no marrow seeds, so I need t source some for 2026 Previously I have grown Long Green Trailing and Long Green Bush 2

Onions from Seed - Four Varieties, obtain more for next year 

Onion Sets - Order some 

Pak Choi - Only one pack in seed box 

Parsnip - Purchase Seed 

Pepper - One pack of seeds with sow by date last year, get more 

Potatoes - Order / buy some  

Pumpkin - Pumpkin Gold Speck F1 , get new seed for next year  

Radish - get new seed for next year 

Raspberry - No new varieties needed 

Rhubarb - No new varieties needed 

Shallots 

Spinach - three varieties in my seed box - refresh seed holding 

Spring Onions - Two varieties Ishikura & Ramrod sow by this year - buy more 

Squash - Buy Butternut squash seeds 

Strawberries - Only if free trial 

Sweetcorn - in 2026 I will be growing Sweet Corn Pot Of Gold F1 - Suttons buy more seeds 

Swede - Swede Best of All - Seeds To Suit  

Tomatoes - More than enough if not too many new ones for 2026 

Tree Spinach - Growing this year, have seeds 

Turnips - adequate seeds for this year, more from seeds to suit for next year 

Water Melon - adequate seeds for this year, buy more for next year
