Up early and down to the allotment to take the water trays and water the plants and got home before 8:45. It's so easy with the double tray sized trays I picked up - I'm going to have to pick up a few more plus level the staging out a little so that the water in the trays covers the whole seed tray area.

Currently I'm using some water retaining hanging basket liners and some capillary matting - but I'm not sure if I would be better off with gravel or pea shingle in the bottom?

Any advice out there pros and cons ?

Not happy with the weather forecast for the next 10 days 7 days of rain of various intensities then light cloud followed by two days of Sunny Intervals.
