Sowing Senshyu Onion Seeds & Transplanting Lettice Seedlings

Early start on the allotment today.

Sowing a large tray of Japanese Senshyu Yellow Globe Onions as I bought two packs from seedstosuit.co.uk into the cells in the Containerwise Module.

Potting up compost lightly compacted, seed placed in the middle of each cell and then covered with seed sowing compost and finally watered in from above and below.

Vailan Winter Gem lettuces seedlings in plugs harvested, divided to be transplanted into their own module cells.

Potting Shed bench along the window filling up nicely, I just wish there were more signs of germination on some vegetables I have sown.

Organdi (Dwarf French Bean) still only 1/3rd germination and they were used by this year so I expected much better germination rates. One of our new plot neighbours has grown the largest tomatoes I have seen in a while, he has no idea of the variety names, he did however give me one of each so I can save the seeds for next year. he has proved they are viable on the plot, but the weather has been so good
i have not heard of any blight around yet this year.

Ripe Tomatoes harvested and the tomato plants given a hair cut and trim up top and side view so you can see the depth of tomatoes.
